Scrap Metal, GloArt, Hidden Treasures…

by MPI Traveler on January 22, 2014

We traveled up to Graham, Texas to an art show in which a friend was displaying some of his art. Not knowing what to expect for an art show in Graham, we were very pleasantly surprised.  Check out the Graham Convention & Visitors Bureau for more info on this nice little town.

The Old Post Office Museum & Art Center is a great venue for displaying art and is located on the square downtown.  The staff here are all so nice and welcoming.  The art show on Sunday featured two artists with whom we are familiar, Jack Wolfson and Stacey Watkins.

Jack with Pedestal
Here is Jack standing next to a beautiful pedestal that is made of scrap metal. He has a bird sitting in base.  As a metal sculptor he likes to place hidden elements like the bird into his work. (We liked this one so much we bought it!)

You can see more of Jack’s work on the gallery website or by visiting the gallery in Granbury, Texas.

Along with Jack, Stacey Watkins was displaying some of her amazing pieces. Most of her items on display were wall art of various type of angels or other heavenly bodies that were created with a combination of resin and mixed media, much of which is ‘glow in the dark’ which creates an amazing visual effect at night. You can see more of Stacey’s work on her website

These two have collaborated on several pieces that were on display at the show in Graham.  For more information on their talents, check out this video on YouTube!
